काठमाडौं। हलिउडकी विश्वप्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री बेट्टी ह्वाइटको निधन भएको छ । उनको शुक्रबार ३१ डिसेम्बरमा ९९ वर्षको उमेरमा निधन भएको हो । द गोल्डेन गर्ल्स र द मेरी टेलर मूर शो जस्ता शोमा काम गरेकी बेट्टी ह्वाइटले अमेरिकी जनतालाई ७ दशकसम्म हँसाइन् तर अब उनी संसार छोडेर गइसकेकी छिन् । बेट्टीको निधन आफ्नो घरमा सुतिरहेको अवस्थामा भयो ।

बेट्टीले हलिउड उद्योगमा सबैभन्दा लामो करिअर बिताइन् । यससँगै उनको नाम शोबिजको इतिहासमा लेखिएको छ । बेट्टीले १९४९ मा आफ्नो टेलिभिजन करिअरको सुरुवात गरेकी थिइन् । उनको अन्तिम काम फिल्म ‘टोय स्टोरी ४’ मा थियो । बेट्टीले २०१९ मा आएको यो एनिमेटेड फिल्ममा एक पात्रलाई आफ्नो आवाज दिएकी थिइन् ।

बेट्टीको निधनले हलिउड उद्योग शोकमा छ । उनका एजेन्ट जेफ विजासले पिपुल म्यागजिनसँग कुरा गर्दै ‘भलै बेट्टी १०० वर्षकी हुँदै थिइन् तर मलाई लाग्थ्यो कि उनी सधैं जीवित रहनेछिन् । म उनलाई धेरै मिस गर्नेछु । र, उनका जनावरले पनि उनलाई धेरै मिस गर्नेछन् जोसँग उनी धेरै माया गर्थिन् ।’ जेफका अनुसार बेट्टी आफ्नो १०० औं जन्मदिन मनाउन उत्साहित थिइन् तर दुःखद रुपमा उनले त्यो अवसर पाइनन् । अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपनि जो बाइडेन, हलिउडमा प्रसिद्ध हस्तीहरु लगायतले उनलाई श्रद्धाञ्जली दिएका छन् ।
